Taylor Swift Diet Coke

You may have heard back in January that Taylor Swift was partnering with Diet Coke. Or maybe you didn't. She announced the partnership on her personal YouTube channel (not to be confused with her Vevo channel on YouTube), titling the video "Some extraordinary news..." In the 44 second long video, she tells  that she will be "finally making it official" with one of the great loves of her life: Diet Coke. She states that they had been in conversation about the partnership for quite some time and says that this partnership will mean pretty cool things for her RED Tour (which the US leg of ended back in September in Nashville, TN), Diet Coke itself, and other fun things.
One of the "fun things" happening with Diet Coke itself is the introduction of their new can (pictured below). The new can is taller and slimmer to mimic Taylor's look. The can is also covered with her famous quote, "If you're lucky enough to be different, don't ever change," once in red and the rest in a white that wraps around the can repeatedly. On the front of the can, her logo can be seen in silver surrounded by a red banner with the Diet Coke logo about two inches above and right to the left of it.

Being a Taylor Swift fan, of course I had to purchase this! I don't normally drink Diet Coke, but that's not to say I don't like it;  I just don't drink soda as much as I used to. I went out as soon as Diet Coke announced that the cans should be in Kroger's, Walmart, Walgreens, and Publix stores. I went to two different Kroger's in my city. No luck. No big deal, though. I went to Walmart. Nope. Walgreens? Nope. No one in my city had them! I was bummed, but I understood, as they had just been released. I waited a few days and tried again at all the locations. Still not there. I waited a week this time and tried again. Still no Taylor Swift Diet Coke. By now, I was getting frustrated and frankly, annoyed. Everyone was posting pictures of their cool new TS Diet Coke and I was sitting at home, empty-handed.
My mom had some errands to run that weekend and asked if I wanted to go with her. I agreed and while we were in Frisco, TX, she asked if I wanted to check their stores for the cans, knowing how much I'd been trying to find them. We checked Kroger's, Walmart, and Walgreens. Nothing. Cool. Our next stop was Flower Mound, TX and once again I check their Kroger's, Walmart, and Walgreens. Absolutely no Taylor Swift Diet Coke. Now it was getting ridiculous. Three cities, 10 different stores, and no one had the new cans? Unbelievable. I went to Diet Coke's official Facebook page and told them about my situation, not expecting anything. I just wanted to let them know that no one had them in my area. They wrote me back.

I sent them my information, thinking that they were going to verify my location and call a store near me to question why the cans were not on display yet and get back to me when they were available. They read my message, and didn't reply, so that solidified my beliefs. Boy, was I wrong. And in the best way possible. But I'll get to that in a second.
That night, I got a text message from my high school friend, Mayra, telling me that she had seen the Taylor Swift Diet Coke at the Walgreens by her house (I had already checked there the day before). I was thrilled. The next morning, at 8:30am, I was out of the house, at Walgreens, buying four boxes of it. One to drink, two to keep sealed, and one to give away to one of my YouTube subscribers. The boxes contain 6 cans, and are priced at around $2.99. I came home, filmed my giveaway contest video, edited it, and uploaded it. And that was that. I was satisfied.

But today, October 17th, a FedEx truck came to my house and dropped off a medium sized box. It was addressed to Lex Swift, but had no sender other than an address. I had no idea what it was. I opened up the box and was pleasantly surprised to see this inside:

Also inside the brown box was a brand new box of the Taylor Swift Diet Coke!

That is the first I've ever heard of a company doing something like that. I paid nothing for this box. Diet Coke mailed it to me completely free of charge! Now that is what I call customer support!
As you see, the box looks very similar to the can itself. They have the same basic design. For a more thorough look at the box and cans, you can visit my video on YouTube where I go through all of the sides and angles, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILjQYjH1OyA

Finally, thank you Diet Coke for sending me this box of Taylor Swift's Diet Coke. You have very good customer support to meet with the high demands. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I Am An Organ Donor

As of right now, I am an organ donor.

It’s a scary thing to think about, but if you die, you won’t need your organs anymore. Let them save lives. Don’t be discouraged from donating your organs with myths and lies people say.

If you’re not in the medical field, you shouldn’t be discouraging people with things you don’t know because you have NO medical knowledge.
Brain death = death. You’re not alive anymore even though you’re breathing and your heart is beating. You’re breathing because the ventilator is breathing for you. Your heart is beating because your tissues haven’t run out of oxygen, once again, thanks to the ventilator. If the ventilator were to be disconnected, you’d stop breathing. Your tissues would run out of oxygen. Your heart would stop.
Brain death = safe to donate organs. No pain. Your brain controls everything. Movement, breathing, pain, everything.
Your brain’s dead = no pain. Because YOU’RE dead. There’s nothing going on in your brain anymore. Anything that made you YOU isn’t there anymore. No memories, no emotion, no feeling. Nothing. You’re gone.

Don’t let people who aren’t in the medical field discourage you from donating your organs once you’re brain dead. You can save/enhance over 50 lives by donating your organs.

You don’t need them anymore, but someone else does. I hope you consider becoming an organ donor. There is a satisfaction in knowing you’re helping someone else have extra time with their loved ones, time to do things they didn't think they’d get to do, see births, weddings, and graduations they didn't think they’d get to see, and it's all because of you.

Taylor by Taylor Swift Review

This perfume was released (in the US) in July, I believe. I knew all about it the moment it was announced. I saw the bottle, I watched the commercial ads Taylor uploaded on YouTube, and I even did the Hi From Taylor Swift thing she did. It was all cool.
Despite my immense love for Taylor Swift, purchasing this perfume wasn't a top priority of mine. I didn't have to have it the moment it was released like other Taylor Swift fans. I had bought her first first fragrance, Wonderstruck in July. I bought the gift set, of course. I had always loved Wonderstruck. I'd smelled it before, I loved the bottle, and everything about it. The reason I went with Wonderstruck instead of Taylor was that there was no available gift set at the time. Taylor had just been released, so it would be a few months before a gift set was introduced.
On my birthday, September 24th, I was at the mall and walked into Macy's. It occurred to me that I had yet to see what Taylor smelled like! I ran to the tester, sprayed it on me, and fell in love. The smell was amazing. Better than Wonderstruck AND Wonderstruck Enchanted. Still, though, they didn't have a gift set, so Taylor did not come home with me that day.
A week after my birthday, the gift set had been released. I rushed to Macy's and bought the gift set in a heartbeat with no second thoughts.

The gift set comes with the 3.4oz (100ml) EDP bottle of Taylor by Taylor Swift, a 3.4oz (100ml) bottle of scented body lotion, and a 3g Shimmering Body Powder Brush. It's the first time that Taylor has included a body powder of any kind in her fragrance gift sets. The body powder brush took the place of the shower gels that are included in the Wonderstruck and Wonderstruck Enchanted gift sets.
The notes of the fragrance are as follows:

Top Notes:
-Lychee
-Tangerine
-Magnolia Petals

Middle Notes:
-Peony
-Vanilla Orchid
-Hortensia

Base Notes:
-Sandalwood
-Apricot
-Woody Notes
-Cashmere Musk

When you first spray Taylor by Taylor Swift, you'll immediately know it's a sweet scent. Very sweet, but not intoxicating. The sweetness is balanced out by the floral notes. The main thing I can smell in this fragrance is peach, because of the apricot. They are very similar in smell, and when you spray it, the apricot is there from the beginning, despite it being at the base. The apricot lasts through the whole scent; strong at first and then dying down to just a reminiscence of apricot. The rest of the scents mingle in the background, adding more power and definition to the fragrance.
Taylor by Taylor Swift easily became my new addiction. The scent is wonderful, it makes you want to always smell like it, and not to mention, the bottle is gorgeous.

The bottle is very different this time around. Wonderstruck and Wonderstruck Enchanted had very similar bottles, but this one changes it all up. The top of the bottle is a crystal ball with a golden neck and pearls around it to represent Taylor's more mature side. The rim is also gold, and the top part of the bottle (not visible here) has the same pattern that you see on the outer edges of the gift set box above. The bottle is clear as is the liquid itself. All in all, the bottle has a sophisticated look with a bit of a modern twist on it with the pattern. I do love this bottle very much.

Taylor by Taylor Swift is available in:
-Gift Set (pictured above) for $65.00
-1.7 fl. oz. (50ml) for $49.50
-3.4 fl. oz. (100ml) for $59.50
-Rollerball .33fl. oz. (9.75ml) for $20.00
-Scented Hair Mist 5oz (147.86ml) for $20.00
-Scented Body Lotion 6.8oz (201.1ml) for $29.00

To purchase any of these you can visit Taylor Swift's online store at http://www.store.taylorswift.com or at your nearest fragrance shop.

Extra key points:
-The scented lotion smells just like the perfume and the scent does last.
-The body powder is very glittery and fine and also smells like the perfume.
-The fragrance lasts 6-8 hours on the skin, although, I have taken a sweater off and worn it the next day and the scent was still there.
-You cannot purchase the shimmering body powder brush separately. It is a gift-set-only item.
